DESCRIPTION:
COMMUTER,
Jr. H-1B single-seat helicopter, complete
and ready to fly. N814S, Ser. # CWS-1. This helicopter is in
like-new condition. It has an Airworthiness Certificate
and a current Annual (til August 6, 2012). Powered by a high-power
(90hp) aircraft engine, the Continental C90-12F, a 4-cylinder,
4-stroke engine with Slick mags and a new ignition harness.
Engine is in excellent condition, with only 36.8 hrs. running
time. Top photo shows a 320 lb. pilot hovering the helicopter,
which illustrates power of engine. Helicopter also incudes
dynamically & professionally balanced aluminum rotorblades (tail blades are new);
heavy-duty 4130 airframe; full cabin enclosure; full instrumentation;
new instrument console;
avionics (new I-Com IC-A14 transceiver); electrical system; new
seat cushions; all
construction prints, FAA records, etc. Helicopter has been fully
restored from the frame up and is in like-new condition—see
restoration process in last 3 photos. It has always been
stored indoors. Paint scheme: blue with white trim. This
helicopter
is located in North Carolina.
Background
note: This model is the origin of the outstanding line of
Helicom and Commuter helicopters that lead to the production of
the Baby Belle and Safari helicopters. Created by famed
heliopter designer Harold "Pop" Emigh, it has always been
considered among the finest experimental aircraft available (Mr.
Emigh actually flew this Commuter, Jr. and has endorsed the log
books; so did the second owner of the line, Robert Dart).
